Physical Participation & Safety
What the hands-on portion of a class involves, and how to tell us in advance if anything may affect your ability to take part.
What the hands-on portion involves
CPR and emergency cardiovascular care courses include hands-on skills practice that may require kneeling, bending, standing, lifting, performing chest compressions, and working with training manikins and other equipment. Participants should consider their ability to safely perform these activities before participating.
Tell us before class
If you have a physical limitation, injury, disability, pregnancy-related concern, or other circumstance that may affect your ability to participate, please notify CPR Masters RGV before class so reasonable accommodations can be discussed when available. Certain course completion requirements may require successful demonstration of specific hands-on skills.
During class
Participants are expected to follow instructor directions and use training equipment appropriately. Participation in physical skills activities involves some inherent risk of strain or injury.
Accommodations
CPR Masters RGV wants students to have appropriate access to training. If you require an accommodation, please contact us before your scheduled class so we can discuss your needs and determine what reasonable accommodations can be provided while maintaining the required course learning objectives and skills-performance requirements.
The acknowledgment you will see at registration
“I understand that this course may involve physical activities including kneeling, bending, lifting, and performing CPR skills. I agree to follow instructor safety directions and will inform the instructor of any limitation that may affect my ability to safely participate.”
This is an acknowledgment that you have read the above. It is not a waiver and not a release of liability.
Questions about any of this before you book? Call us — we would rather talk it through than have you turn up unsure.
